Ahmed El-Sheikh is the President and General Manager of MENAPAK Foods at PepsiCo, leading an operating unit that includes Egypt Foods, COBO businesses, Middle East Foods, and Pakistan Foods. With more than 30 years of experience in the FMCG sector and over two decades at PepsiCo, he has been instrumental in expanding operations, driving business performance, and strengthening PepsiCo’s presence in key markets across the Middle East, North Africa, and South Asia.
Since joining PepsiCo in 2001 as Franchise Manager for the Gulf region (GCC), El-Sheikh has held key leadership roles in Egypt, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, and India. His expertise in navigating complex markets, implementing effective business strategies, and cultivating high-performance teams has contributed to PepsiCo’s growth in highly competitive environments.
Before assuming his current role, he served as President of PepsiCo India for six years, where he led the franchising of PepsiCo’s beverage operations to Varun Beverages, a major structural shift that reshaped the company’s business in India. He also oversaw the expansion of food manufacturing operations in India and Bangladesh, improving supply chain efficiency and strengthening PepsiCo’s production capabilities. In addition to business growth, he advanced sustainability initiatives in agriculture and water conservation, aligning PepsiCo’s long-term strategy with environmental priorities.
Prior to leading PepsiCo India, El-Sheikh was General Manager of the Middle East Business Unit, where he restructured operations and positioned Saudi Arabia as a key driver of growth for the company’s snacks division.
Now based at PepsiCo’s Middle East headquarters in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, El-Sheikh oversees the company’s snacks and nutrition (Quaker) businesses while leading its PepsiCo Positive (pep+) sustainability initiatives in the region. His leadership focuses on expanding market share, improving operational efficiencies, and strengthening PepsiCo’s long-term growth strategy.
El-Sheikh holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the Higher Institute of Management Studies and has completed the Columbia Senior Executive Program at Columbia Business School in New York.

With over 30 years at PepsiCo, he has led franchise expansion, market growth, and operational improvements, strengthening the company’s competitive position across the region.
Since joining PepsiCo in 1994, Shelbaya has held senior leadership positions in Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Yemen, and the broader MENA region, playing a key role in optimizing operations, driving product innovation, and enhancing PepsiCo’s commercial strategy. His expertise spans sales, marketing, and operations, making him a key force in both company-owned and franchise-led markets.
Before assuming his current role, Shelbaya served as CEO of PepsiCo North Africa, where he led business expansion across Egypt and other North African markets. He focused on expanding production capacity, improving supply chain resilience, and optimizing PepsiCo’s go-to-market strategy, positioning the business for long-term growth. Previously, as CEO of PepsiCo Egypt, he navigated one of PepsiCo’s most dynamic markets, implementing a consumer-first strategy, accelerating digital transformation, and adapting the business to shifting economic conditions.
During his tenure in Egypt, Shelbaya led PepsiCo’s sustainability and community development agenda, embedding sustainability KPIs into core business operations. He launched initiatives such as ‘She Feeds the World’, which empowered Egyptian female farmers, ‘She Works Wonders’, increasing female representation in traditionally male-dominated jobs, and ‘Egypt 2030 Hackathon’, encouraging entrepreneurship among young innovators.
Earlier in his career, Shelbaya was Vice President of the MENA Snacks Category, where he delivered record-breaking innovation revenue, and General Manager of Egypt Snacks, where he achieved double-digit year-on-year growth, strengthening PepsiCo’s market leadership. He also served as Vice President of Bottling Operations for Saudi Arabia and Yemen and Sales and Customer Development Director for the Middle East and Africa, where he played a key role in strengthening PepsiCo’s commercial operations and enhancing distributor performance.
